Enshrouded 1.0 Server Guide: Release Date, Changes and Setup

Enshrouded leaves Early Access on October 15, 2026. Keen Games confirmed the date on Steam in June, and version 1.0 is the biggest update the game has had so far. If you run a dedicated server for your group, this guide covers what is confirmed, what is still open and how to make sure your world makes it through launch day.

When does Enshrouded 1.0 come out?

Enshrouded 1.0 releases on Steam on October 15, 2026. Keen Games has not announced an exact release time yet. A PlayStation 5 version is on the way as well: Keen showed it to the press at Gamescom in August. Since September 8 the game costs €39.99, €10 more than during Early Access.

What is new in Enshrouded 1.0?

Keen Games will publish the full changelog and a highlights video in October. This is what has been confirmed so far:

• Better performance, especially on lower and mid-range PCs. Keen calls this one of the biggest challenges for 1.0.
• Nine new spells for mages: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, a fire, ice and shock totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton.
• Reworked wands with heavy attacks that pierce enemies, an aerial wand attack and a wand evasion attack.
• New skills for mages and archers, three new Eternal arrows (fire, shock and bone) and Eternal spells and arrows that you can upgrade like weapons.
• More enemy variants for every faction, including the Fell and the Scavengers, some of them heavy or elite.
• Improvements to existing systems and smoother player movement.

Adventure Sharing, the physical combat overhaul, the new skill tree and gear upgrades already arrived with Update 8 (Forging the Path) in April 2026.

Is Enshrouded 1.0 crossplay?

Keen Games has not announced crossplay between PC and PS5 for the 1.0 launch. Until that changes, assume that PS5 players cannot join a PC dedicated server. For everyone who plays on Steam, your server keeps working as before.

Will my world survive the 1.0 update?

Keen has not said yet whether Early Access worlds carry over unchanged. Big updates have changed characters before: Update 8 replaced the entire skill tree. Read the official changelog on release day, and make a backup of your world before your server updates in any case.

How to prepare your dedicated server

1. Back up your world. Download the savegame folder and enshrouded_server.json. On a HostValues server you can also create a backup in the panel under Backups.
2. Update on release day. Players can only join a server that runs the same version as their game. On HostValues a restart is enough: the server installs the latest version through SteamCMD when it starts. On your own machine, update the Enshrouded Dedicated Server tool in Steam or run SteamCMD with app ID 2278520.
3. Check your settings. Compare enshrouded_server.json with the new default file after the update, because major versions can add settings. On HostValues you set the server name, the number of slots and the passwords for the Admin, Friend, Guest and Visitor groups in the Startup tab of the panel.
4. Plan for your group size. An Enshrouded server supports up to 16 players. More players and bigger bases need more memory, so choose a plan with room to spare if your whole group comes back for 1.0.
5. Tell your players. Share the join details and make sure everyone has updated the game before you meet up in Embervale.

Starting fresh for 1.0?

Many groups use a major release as the moment to start a new world.
