How many players can join my DayZ server?

DayZ supports up to 60 players on a dedicated server. The number of simultaneous players you can run smoothly depends on RAM and the number of mods loaded. Our plans are sized to match different community sizes.

A vanilla DayZ server with up to 30 players runs well on 8 GB. If you use mods like DayZ Expansion or run 40 or more players, 12 GB is recommended. Heavily modded servers with 50 or more players benefit from 16 GB.

Yes. You can install Steam Workshop mods through the game panel or upload them via SFTP. Popular mod collections like DayZ Expansion, Trader mods and custom maps are all supported.

Yes. Besides the default Chernarus map, you can switch to Livonia, which is also part of the base game, or to community maps like Namalsk, Deer Isle and others. Upload the map files via SFTP and update the server configuration.

Yes, automatic backups are enabled by default and you can restore one yourself through the game panel. If you want to go further back, you can add extra backup slots.

Yes, you can upgrade to a larger plan at any time through the client area. Your world, player data and settings are kept intact.

DayZ 1.30 was released on 15 October 2026 for PC, Xbox and PlayStation, together with Badlands, a paid expansion (DLC) with the new map Nasdara. Update 1.30 itself is part of the base game. Your server and your players must run the same version, so your server needs 1.30. For Nasdara, Bohemia has published the official mission files as dayzOffline.nasdara; the server loads this mission through the template entry in serverDZ.cfg. Bohemia announced a full wipe across all platforms with 1.30. Make a backup in the game panel before you update; our support helps daily from 10:00 to 22:00 via ticket or Discord.
