That depends a bit on how many plugins and players you expect on the server. For the newer versions from 1.21 onwards, we always recommend Redstone or higher.
We support Paper, Spigot, Vanilla and Forge. So you can also use mods on your Minecraft server at HostValues. (Mods are only supported from Gold and up.)
Yes. New releases are usually ready in the panel within a day of the official launch, including snapshots and pre-releases. You switch versions yourself without losing your world. For 1.21 and newer we recommend at least Redstone (4GB), because newer worlds need more memory.
A modpack easily uses 6 to 8 GB before the first player logs in. For modpacks we therefore recommend at least Obsidian (8GB). Playing with a larger group or a heavy pack such as All the Mods? Then choose Barrier, Bedrock or Netherite (24GB). The plan finder at the top of this page shows straight away which plan fits your situation.
Yes. You can upgrade at any time from the client area while keeping your world, plugins and settings. Your server simply gets more memory and storage. Unsure between two plans? Pick the smaller one and scale up when you need to.
Minecraft 1.21 requires Java 21. In the game panel you set the Java version per server, and the version selector lets you switch server versions easily. If your server or modpack runs on 1.21 but will not start, first check that Java 21 is selected.
