Frequently asked questions

Never put the token in your code or in a Git repository. Store it in a .env file instead, which you upload via SFTP or create in the file manager of the panel. Your bot then reads the token from that file, for example with dotenv.

A simple discord.js bot usually needs 100 to 200 MB, a discord.py bot often 80 to 150 MB. Large servers, heavy message caching or music features need more. The Small plan with 1 GB is plenty for most bots, and you can watch live memory usage in the panel.

Upgrade when memory usage stays above 80 percent, your bot restarts with an out-of-memory error, or you want to run several bots on one server. Upgrades are done in the client area and your files and database are kept.

Node.js, Python and Java. Under Startup in the panel you choose the bot runtime: Node.js for discord.js, Python for discord.py, pycord or nextcord, or Java for JDA (started as a .jar file). Then you pick the version under Docker Image on the same page: Node.js 18, 20, 22, 24 or 26, Python 3.11, or Java 17 or 21. With Node.js the panel runs npm install at every start if there is a package.json, and with Python it installs the packages from requirements.txt at every start. After switching runtime, delete old bot files that do not fit the new runtime and press Reinstall under Settings.

Yes. Every plan includes MySQL databases. You create a database in the panel under Databases and manage it with phpMyAdmin, which you open from the same page.

The panel restarts your bot automatically, so a one-off crash needs no action from you. If it crashes again shortly after that restart, the panel leaves it stopped, so a fault in your code cannot cause an endless loop. The console then shows the error message, so you can find the cause.
