TPS and FPS are two different performance metrics. One belongs to the server, the other to the player.
What is TPS?
TPS stands for Ticks Per Second and measures how fast the server processes game logic. Most games (including Minecraft) run at 20 TPS. When it drops below 20, players experience lag.
What is FPS?
FPS (Frames Per Second) is a client metric: how many images per second the player's computer renders. FPS depends on the player's hardware, not the server.
How to improve TPS
Use Paper/Purpur instead of Vanilla, reduce view-distance, clean up unused chunks, and ensure sufficient RAM.
