Palworld supports server-side mods that change gameplay without requiring every player to install files. The modding community has grown rapidly, and hundreds of mods are available on Nexus and Thunderstore.
Installing mods
- Stop the server.
- Download the mod from Nexus Mods or Thunderstore.
- Extract the files into the server's mod folder (usually
Pal/Binaries/Win64/Mods/or the Linux equivalent). - Some mods require a mod loader such as UE4SS (Unreal Engine Scripting System). Install UE4SS first, then place mods in the
Mods/folder. - Restart the server.
Best quality-of-life mods
- PalworldSettingsEditor: a graphical tool to edit PalWorldSettings.ini without manually typing values.
- Faster Breeding: shortens egg production time without touching server-wide settings.
- Stack Size Increase: raises stack limits from 9999 to 99999. Reduces chest clutter on large servers.
- Enhanced Map: adds biome labels, resource locations and dungeon markers to the world map.
Best gameplay mods
- Custom Pal Spawns: control which Pals appear in each biome. Useful for themed servers.
- PvP Balance Overhaul: rebalances damage, health and stamina for competitive PvP servers.
- Boss Rush Mode: adds a boss arena where players fight tower bosses on demand.
- Increased Dungeon Spawns: makes dungeons appear more frequently on the map.
Server admin mods
- RCON Manager: adds full RCON support for remote commands.
- Backup Scheduler: automatic world backups at configurable intervals.

Do all players need to install the same mods?
Server-side mods (spawn rates, balance, admin tools) work without client modifications. Mods that add new models, textures or UI elements require installation on the player's side. Always check the mod page.
Can mods damage my save?
Most well-maintained mods are safe. Always create a backup before installing new mods. If something goes wrong, remove the mod files and restore the backup.
Do mods survive a server update?
Not always. A Palworld update can break mods. Wait for mod updates before updating the server, or test on a copy first.
