Modpacks have shaped multiplayer Minecraft for over a decade, and 2026 has a lineup that covers every taste. Whether you want hardcore survival, tech automation, RPG quests or creative engineering, there is a pack for it. Below are the ten best modpacks to run on a server right now, with the RAM each one actually needs.
1. All the Mods 10 (ATM 10)
The kitchen-sink king. ATM 10 ships over 400 mods on Minecraft 1.21.1 and has something for every player. Tech, magic, exploration and quests in one package. Expect heavy resource usage.
RAM: 10 to 12 GB for 5 to 10 players.
2. Create: Above and Beyond
A quest-driven pack built entirely around the Create mod. Players progress through tiers of mechanical engineering. Lighter than ATM but still needs breathing room.
RAM: 6 to 8 GB.
3. RLCraft 2
The brutally hard survival pack returns on a newer Minecraft base. Thirst, temperature, realistic damage and hostile mobs everywhere. Not for the faint of heart.
RAM: 6 to 8 GB.
4. Vault Hunters
Run procedurally generated vaults, collect loot and level up your character. The vault dimension is generated on demand, which spikes RAM briefly during runs.
RAM: 8 to 10 GB.
5. Better MC (BMC)
A vanilla-plus experience with Biomes O' Plenty, new structures, quality-of-life mods and light RPG elements. Great for groups that want an enhanced vanilla feel.
RAM: 4 to 6 GB.
6. Cobblemon
The open-source Pokemon mod that has replaced Pixelmon for many players. Excellent multiplayer support, lower overhead than Pixelmon, active development.
RAM: 4 to 6 GB.
7. All the Mods 11 (ATM 11)
Already building on Minecraft 26.1. Fewer mods than ATM 10 because many have not ported yet, but it is the bleeding edge if you want the newest version.
RAM: 10 to 12 GB.
8. Prominence II
An RPG overhaul on 1.20.1 with classes, bosses and lore. Heavily customized world generation creates unique landscapes. Needs Java 17.
RAM: 8 to 10 GB.
9. SkyFactory 5
The latest skyblock pack. Start on an island, progress through tech trees. Skyblock worlds are small, so RAM usage stays manageable.
RAM: 4 to 6 GB.
10. FTB Oceanblock
Skyblock meets ocean biome. Unique progression with quests and a custom resource generation system. A refreshing twist on skyblock.
RAM: 6 to 8 GB.

How to install a modpack on your server
- Download the server pack from CurseForge or the pack's website (not the client pack).
- Upload the server pack to your server via SFTP and extract it.
- Set the correct Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- Set the RAM allocation to at least the minimum listed above.
- Start the server and accept the EULA.
Can I switch modpacks without losing my world?
No. Each modpack has its own blocks, items and world generation. Switching packs means starting a new world. Back up your current world first through the Backups tab in the panel.
How much RAM do I really need?
The numbers above are for 5 to 10 players. Add 1 to 2 GB for every 5 extra players, and more if you use world pre-generation or heavy automation. Start at the minimum, monitor usage, and upgrade if you see out-of-memory errors.
Forge or Fabric for modpacks?
Most large packs still use Forge or NeoForge. Fabric packs exist (Cobblemon, some lightweight packs) but the majority of kitchen-sink packs target Forge. Use whatever the pack requires.
All packs above run on our Minecraft hosting plans with NVMe storage and per-server Java selection.
