Best Multiplayer Minecraft Modpacks 2026: Top 10 for Servers

For a server in 2026, the strongest picks are All the Mods 10, Craftoria, FTB StoneBlock 4 and FTB OceanBlock 2 (all Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge), the Cobblemon Official Modpack for Pokémon, Prominence II for an RPG, Better MC (BMC4) for vanilla+, CABIN for Create and Vault Hunters for loot runs. All the Mods 11 is the one to watch: it runs on Minecraft 26.1.2 but is still an early beta. We checked every pack on its CurseForge or Modrinth listing on 18 October 2026, and all ten were updated in 2026.

The ten packs at a glance

1. All the Mods 10 (ATM10)

The default pick for a group that wants everything in one world: tech, magic, exploration and quests. The ATM team's own summary promises around 500 mods and "a proper endgame". Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge; version 8.3 came out on 15 October 2026. The makers give no RAM figure, so do not squeeze it onto your smallest plan. Step by step: our ATM10 server setup guide.

2. All the Mods 11 (ATM11)

ATM11 exists, but it is early: its CurseForge page calls it a "super early alpha for 26.1.2", and the newest file (15 October 2026) is 0.12.0-beta, on NeoForge. It targets Minecraft 26.1.2, not 26.3 (the current release), and needs Java 25. Pick it if your group wants a 26.x world now and accepts breakage; back up before every pack update.

3. Craftoria

A large guided pack for groups that prefer following quests to reading wikis. The CurseForge page lists 500+ mods, 2,000+ quests and dynamic seasons. Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, last update 13 September 2026 (version 1.37.0). The makers give no RAM figure.

4. FTB StoneBlock 4

You start surrounded by stone and dig out your base, with quest chapters, handcrafted Vaults and FTB Team Bases for co-op. Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, updated 12 October 2026. The step server owners miss: FTB states that StoneBlock 4 needs enable-command-block switched on in server.properties, otherwise some structures do not work. FTB's own pack data lists 6 GB of memory as the minimum and 8 GB as recommended.

5. FTB OceanBlock 2

Survival on an endless ocean: scavenge debris and build up tech (Oritech, Replication, EnderIO) along a quest line. Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, updated 24 August 2026. FTB's pack data gives 4 GB minimum and 6 GB recommended. The first FTB OceanBlock is a separate 1.16.5 pack.

6. Cobblemon Official Modpack

The official modpack of the Cobblemon mod, tagged lightweight on Modrinth: Pokémon to catch, battle and evolve. Version 1.8.2 (11 October 2026) runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric; a NeoForge edition has the same version number. The makers recommend at least 2.5 GB of memory, 3 GB or more for best performance, and say players with the pack can join servers that run only Cobblemon and Fabric API. 7. Prominence II: Hasturian Era

A story-driven RPG built on custom content: a talent tree, an artifact weapon you forge and upgrade, and bosses. Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric, version 4.1.4 from 16 October 2026, so Java 17. Its official server guide, linked from the Modrinth page, suggests at least 8 GB of RAM for 3 to 4 players, plus 1 GB for every extra player.

8. Better MC [FORGE] BMC4

Vanilla+ for groups that want Minecraft to still feel like Minecraft: overhauled world generation, thousands of dungeons and structures, new bosses, the Aether, 100+ quests and 350+ mods according to its page. Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge, so Java 17, newest file v62hf from 9 October 2026.

9. CABIN (Create Above & Beyond In Newer)

For Create fans who want a factory progression with a goal. CABIN is a port and remaster of the 1.16.5 pack Create: Above and Beyond by another author, on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge (Java 17), last updated 11 June 2026.

10. Vault Hunters Third Edition

An action RPG around a dungeon dimension called the Vault: level up, pick talents and abilities, run vaults together and collect 25 artifacts to unlock the final boss; mods unlock through research. Still Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge (Java 17), but maintained: 3.21.7 came out on 28 July 2026. The makers tell players to set the CurseForge memory slider to 8192 MB, a figure for the game client.

Packs we took off the list

RLCraft is still a Minecraft 1.12.2 pack (see the FAQ below). Create: Above and Beyond stayed on 1.16.5 (Java 8), last file December 2021. SkyFactory 5 (1.20.1, Forge) has had no new file since 11 March 2025.

How to install a modpack on your server

1. Keeping an old world? Back it up in the Backups tab first (2 slots per server). Another pack means a new world, because the old one holds blocks and items from mods the new pack lacks.
2. Open the Modpacks tab and install the pack from there.
3. Go to Startup and set the Docker Image to the Java version from the table. Java does not change automatically when you install a pack.
4. Start the server and watch the Console; a large pack takes a while on first start.
5. Running StoneBlock 4? Set enable-command-block=true in server.properties via the File managers tab or SFTP (login details under Settings), then restart.
6. Players install the same pack and version in their own launcher and join via Multiplayer, Add Server, with the address from the panel.

Is All the Mods 11 out, and which Minecraft version does it use?

Yes, as an early beta: 0.12.0-beta from 15 October 2026, on Minecraft 26.1.2 with NeoForge and Java 25. For a world that has to last months, ATM10 (Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21) is the safer choice.

Does RLCraft 2 exist?

We could not find it. The official RLCraft page on CurseForge offers RLCraft for Minecraft 1.12.2, latest version 2.9.3 from 27 June 2023. A 1.12.2 pack runs on Java 8, which you can select under Startup.

Which Java version does a modpack server need?

The one that matches the pack's Minecraft version: Java 25 for 26.1 and newer, Java 21 for 1.20.5 to 1.21.11, Java 17 for 1.18 to 1.20.4 and Java 8 for 1.16.5 and older. More in which Java version a Minecraft server needs.

How much RAM does a modpack server need?

Only some makers give a figure: Prominence II 8 GB for 3 to 4 players plus 1 GB per extra player, FTB 8 GB recommended for StoneBlock 4 and 6 GB for OceanBlock 2, Cobblemon 3 GB or more. ATM10, ATM11, Craftoria, BMC4 and CABIN give none. For those, start with headroom, check memory use after the first busy evening and upgrade if it runs short; your world stays.
