The seed determines your entire world. A bad seed means building your base in a desert with no water or walking 5000 blocks to find a village. A good seed puts diverse biomes, structures and resources near spawn, giving your players a strong start.
What makes a good multiplayer seed
- Multiple biomes near spawn: players can spread out and explore different environments.
- Village at or near spawn: gives everyone a starting point with beds, food and villager trading.
- Ocean access: for ocean monuments, shipwrecks and ocean-based builds.
- Flat area for builds: not everything should be mountains. A plains biome near spawn gives building space.
- Structures: nearby stronghold, mineshafts, pillager outposts for group activities.

5. Cherry Blossom Paradise
Seed: -9876543210
Spawn in a cherry grove biome with pink trees and rolling hills. A village is nearby in the adjacent meadow. Beautiful aesthetic for builders and screenshot-heavy servers.
How to set a seed
- Stop the server and back up the current world.
- Delete the
world/folder (or rename it to keep it). - In
server.properties, setlevel-seed=YOUR_SEED. - Start the server. A new world generates with the specified seed.
Seeds only determine generation. Changing the seed on an existing world does nothing; you need a new world.
Do seeds work on all versions?
Seeds are version-dependent. A seed that generates a village at spawn on 26.2 may generate something completely different on 1.21. Always verify with Chunkbase for your version.
Can I preview a seed before using it?
Yes. Chunkbase shows you biomes, structures and spawn location for any seed on any version. No need to generate the world first.
Set your seed on any Minecraft plan at HostValues through server.properties.
