How do I change the maximum number of players?

The maximum number of players that can be on your server at the same time is set with the max-players option in the server.properties file.

1. In the game panel, open the Files tab.
2. Click the server.properties file.
3. Find the line max-players=20 and change the number to the maximum you want, for example max-players=50.
4. Save the file.
5. Restart the server from the Console tab.

There is no hard limit on this setting, on all plans you are free to choose how many slots you configure. Do keep the following in mind:

• Every online player costs memory and processing power. How much exactly depends heavily on your plugins, the view distance and how spread out players are across the world.
• If you notice the server starting to lag when it gets busy, lower the view-distance in server.properties or consider upgrading to a larger plan. You can upgrade at any time through the client area.
• The number in the server list is purely the number of slots, it says nothing about the performance of the server.
