How to Use a Custom Domain for Your Game Server

Instead of remembering an IP address, players can connect via an easy domain like mc.yourserver.com.

What you need

A registered domain (e.g., Cloudflare, Namecheap) and access to DNS settings.

Standard port (25565 for Minecraft)

Create an A record: point your domain (or subdomain like mc.yourdomain.com) to your server IP.

Custom port

If the server runs on a different port (e.g., 25570), you need an SRV record.

DNS propagation

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours (typically 5-30 minutes). Use dnschecker.org to verify.
