Palworld Server Hosting: Beginner's Guide 2026

Palworld combines survival, crafting, and creature collecting in an open world. With your own dedicated server, you have full control over settings, mods, and who plays.

System Requirements

  • RAM: Minimum 8 GB, recommended 16 GB for more than 8 players
  • CPU: Minimum 4 cores. Palworld is fairly heavy on the CPU.
  • Storage: 10-15 GB for the base installation

Setting Up the Server

At HostValues, you install Palworld with one click. The server is installed via SteamCMD (app ID 2394010). After the first start, all configuration files are created.

Important Settings

Server settings are in PalWorldSettings.ini:

  • ServerPlayerMaxNum: Maximum number of players (default 32)
  • ExpRate: XP multiplier
  • PalCaptureRate: Pal catch rate
  • DeathPenalty: What you lose on death
  • bEnableInvaderEnemy: Raids on/off

Performance Tips

Palworld servers can be heavy. Tips for good performance:

  • Use NVMe storage (SSD is too slow for large bases)
  • Restart the server every 6-12 hours to counter memory leaks
  • Limit the number of players if the server starts lagging
