How do I install plugins on my Minecraft server?

Plugins work on server software such as Paper and Spigot, so first check that your server runs on one of these.

1. Download the plugin you want as a .jar file, for example from SpigotMC or Hangar. Check that the plugin supports your Minecraft version.
2. In the game panel, open the Files tab and go to the plugins folder.
3. Upload the .jar file to this folder. Larger files can also be uploaded via SFTP.
4. Restart your server.
5. Use the /plugins command to check that the plugin shows up green in the list.

Does the plugin show up red in the list? Check the error message in the console. In most cases the plugin is not compatible with your server version.
