Latency from Singapore
Rust PvP requires low, consistent latency. Our Singapore data center delivers:
- Singapore: under 5 ms
- Malaysia: 10-20 ms
- Indonesia: 20-35 ms
- Philippines: 30-50 ms
- Thailand: 30-45 ms
- Australia: 80-100 ms
Compare this to a European server, where the same players would see 150-250 ms. For Rust, that is the difference between playable and unplayable PvP.
Server requirements for Rust
Rust is demanding. The server requirements scale with map size and player count:
- Small map (3000), 10-30 players: 6-8 GB RAM
- Medium map (3500), 30-75 players: 8-12 GB RAM
- Large map (4250), 75-150 players: 12-16 GB RAM
- Modded with many plugins: add 2-4 GB on top
CPU matters as much as RAM for Rust. All HostValues locations run AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processors, which handle Rust well even with Oxide plugins and large player counts.
Wipe schedules
Rust servers wipe on a regular schedule. The most common patterns:
- Weekly: wipe every Thursday (aligns with Facepunch forced wipes on the first Thursday of the month)
- Biweekly: wipe every two weeks, popular for smaller communities
- Monthly: wipe on the first Thursday of each month (the forced wipe)
On a managed host, you control wipe timing through the panel or a scheduled task. Map wipes and blueprint wipes can be set independently.
Oxide plugin support
All HostValues Rust servers support Oxide (uMod) plugins. Popular choices for SEA servers:
- Gather Manager: adjust resource rates for smaller groups
- Better Chat: colored names and chat formatting
- Backpacks: extra inventory space
- NTeleportation: teleportation between bases and players
- Kits: starter kits and VIP packages
Plugins are installed by dropping the .cs files into the oxide/plugins/ directory. The panel file manager or SFTP both work.
