Palworld dedicated server setup: tips and settings for 2026

Palworld combines creature-collecting with survival and base-building. A dedicated server gives you full control over settings and keeps your world online 24/7.

Requirements

  • RAM: minimum 8GB, 12 to 16GB recommended for more than 8 players
  • Storage: 10GB+ (world grows with bases and Pals)
  • Ports: 8211 UDP (game) must be open

Installation

  1. At HostValues select Palworld as game type when creating your server.
  2. The server is automatically installed via SteamCMD.
  3. Adjust settings in PalWorldSettings.ini.

Key settings

  • ServerPlayerMaxNum: maximum players (default 32)
  • ExpRate and PalCaptureRate: adjust experience and capture speed
  • DeathPenalty: what players lose on death
  • bEnableInvaderEnemy: base raids on or off
  • DayTimeSpeedRate and NightTimeSpeedRate: day/night cycle

Updates

Palworld receives regular updates with new Pals, areas and features. Always make a backup before updating. Major updates may contain save file changes that are not backwards compatible.

Performance

Palworld is memory-heavy, especially with many bases and Pals. Monitor memory usage and upgrade when the server starts stuttering.
