How much RAM does a Palworld server need?
Palworld is more memory-hungry than most survival games. The RAM requirement does not change based on server location.
- 1-4 players: 4 GB minimum
- 4-8 players: 8 GB recommended
- 8-16 players: 12-16 GB for a smooth experience
- 16-32 players: 16-32 GB depending on base complexity
The world grows in memory as players explore, build and catch Pals. If you see performance drops after hours of play, a server restart releases accumulated memory.
Key server settings for SEA play
A few PalWorldSettings.ini tweaks that matter for Southeast Asian groups:
- ServerPlayerMaxNum: set to your actual group size plus a buffer. Higher caps use more RAM even without players connected
- DeathPenalty: 0 (None), 1 (Item), 2 (ItemAndEquipment), 3 (All). For casual groups, 0 or 1 is common
- PalSpawnNumRate: higher values mean more Pals in the world, which uses more server resources
- bIsMultiplay: must be True for multiplayer
