FiveM is the most popular multiplayer modification for GTA V and is primarily used for roleplay servers. With your own server, you decide the rules and gameplay.
System Requirements
- RAM: Minimum 4 GB for a small server. 8-16 GB for serious RP servers with many resources.
- CPU: At least 2 cores, 4+ recommended for larger servers.
- Storage: 5-20 GB depending on resources and scripts.
Framework: ESX vs. QBCore
The two most popular frameworks for FiveM RP servers:
- ESX (es_extended): The oldest and most widespread framework. Huge amounts of free resources available.
- QBCore: Newer, more optimized, and better structured. Growing rapidly in popularity.
For new servers, we recommend QBCore for better performance and more modern code.
Installation
At HostValues, you install FiveM with one click. You need a Cfx.re license key (free at keymaster.fivem.net). Add the key to your server.cfg.
