V Rising is a vampire survival game where you build a castle, hunt for blood and conquer the land. A dedicated server gives you full control over PvP rules, loot rates and castle decay, letting you create the exact experience your group wants.
Requirements
- RAM: 4 to 8 GB. More players and larger castles increase memory usage.
- CPU: 2 to 4 cores. Combat with many units is CPU-intensive.
- Storage: 5 to 10 GB.
- Ports: 9876 and 9877 UDP (default).
Installation
- Select V Rising in the game panel, or install via SteamCMD (app ID 1829350) on a VPS.
- Start the server to generate configuration files.
- Edit
ServerHostSettings.jsonfor server name, description, password, max players and ports. - Edit
ServerGameSettings.jsonfor gameplay rules (PvP mode, loot rules, castle decay, etc.).
PvP vs PvE configuration

Popular settings to adjust
- BloodEssenceMultiplier: increases blood essence drops. Higher means less grinding.
- CastleDecayRateModifier: how fast unattended castles decay. Lower for casual servers.
- DayDurationInSeconds: length of a full day/night cycle. Default is 1080 (18 minutes).
- ClanSize: maximum clan members. Default is 4.
- CastleLimit: how many castles each player can own.
Admin commands
Add your Steam ID to the admin list in adminlist.txt. Then in-game:
adminauth: authenticate as admin.teleport [name]: teleport to a player or location.give [item] [amount]: give items.listusers: see all connected players.
How long does a wipe last?
V Rising does not have forced wipes like Rust. The server runs until you decide to reset. Most community servers wipe every 1 to 3 months to keep the game fresh.
Can I transfer my singleplayer world?
Yes. Copy your local save files to the server's save directory. The save format is compatible between singleplayer and dedicated server.
Is crossplay supported?
Steam and PC Game Pass players can join the same dedicated server when crossplay is enabled in the server settings.
