Deadlock is Valve's team-based third-person shooter that combines MOBA lane-pushing with fast gunplay. While official dedicated server tools are limited, the community has found ways to host custom servers.
Current Server Status
As of September 2026, Valve has not released a separate dedicated server app for Deadlock. However, the game can be launched in dedicated server mode for custom games and modding.
Community Server Options
- Local dedicated: Launch the game with server mode flags to host LAN or internet games
- Docker/Proton on Linux: Community projects wrap the Windows executable in Proton to run headless on Linux
- Commercial hosting: Some providers already offer managed Deadlock server hosting
What You Can Do
- Host private matches for your group or tournament
- Run custom maps created by the modding community
- Practice specific heroes and matchups
Hardware Requirements
Deadlock servers are relatively lightweight compared to survival games. A VPS or game server with 4 GB RAM and a modern CPU should handle 12-player matches comfortably.
