Conan Exiles dedicated server setup guide

Conan Exiles is a survival game set in the world of Conan the Barbarian. Build bases, capture thralls, fight bosses and survive the Exiled Lands or the Isle of Siptah. A dedicated server gives you control over PvP windows, building decay, thrall limits and the Purge.

Requirements

• RAM: 6 to 10 GB. Large bases with many thralls increase memory usage significantly.
• CPU: 2 to 4 cores. The Purge and large-scale combat are CPU-intensive.
• Storage: 10 to 20 GB depending on the map (Exiled Lands or Isle of Siptah).
• Ports: 7777 UDP (game), 7778 UDP (raw UDP), 27015 UDP (Steam query).

Installation

1. Select Conan Exiles in the game panel, or install via SteamCMD (app ID 443030) on a VPS.
2. Choose the map: Exiled Lands (default) or Isle of Siptah (DLC).
3. Edit ServerSettings.ini for gameplay rules.
4. Start the server.

Key settings

• PVPEnabled: true for PvP, false for PvE.
• BuildingDamageMultiplier: 0 = indestructible buildings (PvE). 1.0 = normal (PvP).
• ThrallDecayTime: how long before unattended thralls despawn. Default 604800 seconds (7 days).
• HarvestAmountMultiplier: increase for faster resource gathering.
• PlayerXPRateMultiplier: increase for faster leveling.
• MaxBuildingPlacementDistance: how far from the player you can place buildings.

The Purge

The Purge is an NPC attack on your base. Configure it with:

• PurgeLevel: difficulty of the attacking waves.
• PurgePeriodicity: how often Purges happen.
• MinPurgeOnlinePlayers: minimum players online for a Purge to trigger.

On PvE servers, the Purge is the main threat. On PvP servers, it adds unpredictability to raiding.

Mods

Conan Exiles supports Steam Workshop mods. Add Workshop IDs to the modlist.txt file and restart. Popular mods: EEWA (expanded endgame), Pippi (admin tools), Age of Calamitous (overhaul), Better Thralls.

Exiled Lands or Isle of Siptah?

Exiled Lands is the original map with more content and community familiarity. Isle of Siptah is a newer island map with a different progression system and storms. Most new servers start with Exiled Lands.

How do I reduce lag from large bases?

Set building piece limits, enable building decay for inactive players, and limit thralls per clan. Large bases with 5000+ pieces cause significant server load.
