FiveM turns GTA V into a multiplayer platform where you can create your own server with unique scripts, vehicles and maps. Instead of playing on Rockstar's official servers, you have full control. This guide explains how to rent and set up a FiveM server.
Why Rent a FiveM Server?
Hosting FiveM on your own PC is possible, but your internet connection limits the number of players and the server stops when you shut down your computer. A dedicated server runs 24/7, offers better bandwidth and DDoS protection. At HostValues, FiveM servers come ready to use with txAdmin pre-installed.
First Steps
After ordering your server, log into the management panel. The FiveM server is already installed. Open txAdmin in your browser to manage the server. On the first boot, choose a template: QBCore, ESX Legacy or an empty template. QBCore is the most popular RP framework in 2026.
Adding Resources
Resources are modules that add functionality: jobs, vehicles, interfaces, economy systems. To install a resource:
- Download the resource folder and place it in the
resourcesdirectory via SFTP. - Add
ensure resource_nameto yourserver.cfg. - Restart the server from txAdmin.
Server Settings
The file server.cfg contains the most important settings:
- sv_maxclients: maximum number of players (32, 64 or 128 depending on your plan).
- sv_hostname: the name that appears in the server list.
- sv_licenseKey: your FiveM license key (free via Cfx.re).
Performance
A FiveM server with 32 players and lightweight scripts runs well on 4 GB RAM. For 64 players with heavy scripts (full ESX/QBCore), expect 8 GB. Monitor CPU usage in the panel and disable unused resources for a smooth experience.
How much does a FiveM server cost?
At HostValues, FiveM servers start at just a few euros per month. The price depends on the number of slots and RAM. Check our FiveM Hosting page for current pricing.
Tip: at HostValues you can rent a FiveM server and be online within minutes.
